{"id":1916,"date":"2020-04-30T18:37:21","date_gmt":"2020-04-30T21:37:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.summersidearc.com\/?p=1916"},"modified":"2020-04-30T18:37:21","modified_gmt":"2020-04-30T21:37:21","slug":"special-event-stations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.summersidearc.com\/index.php\/2020\/04\/30\/special-event-stations\/","title":{"rendered":"Special Event Stations&#8230;."},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>GB4VVV<\/h1>\n<p>Listen out on HF for\u00a0<strong>GB4 V V V<\/strong>, the distinctive dit-dit-dit-DAH of wartime broadcasting, sent by the SES managed by Andy, G0SFJ, until 11 May.<\/p>\n<p>Prefer eqsl, SWL reports very welcome.<\/p>\n<p>73 de\u00a0<em><strong>andy g0sfj<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Antarctica<\/h1>\n<p>Member and operators of the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition team (JARE) will be active as\u00a0<strong>8J1RL<\/strong>\u00a0from Showa Research Station, Queen Maud Land (AN-015), until January 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Operators mentioned are Take\/JA1AGS and Hiro\/JH7JCX.<\/p>\n<p>Activity will be on various HF bands using CW and the Digital modes.<\/p>\n<p>QSL via JG2MLI or by the JARL Bureau.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Chinese special event<\/h1>\n<p>Members of the\u00a0<strong>Chinese Radio Amateurs Club<\/strong>\u00a0(CRAC) will activate 10 special event callsigns (B0CRA &#8211; B9CRA) across their country make QSOs with amateur radio operators all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>Operations will take place between 0000 UTC May 1st and 1200 UTC May 7th.<\/p>\n<p>QSL via BA1GG. Log search entry:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mulandxc.com\/crac\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/mulandxc.com\/crac\/view<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This activity\/event takes place every year. It started on May 5th, 1940, where Chinese amateur radio operators started an &#8220;On air conference&#8221;. On May 5th, 1947, the conference covered all the regions in China, it was the biggest on air event. In 1942 and 1944, there were 2 exhibitions associated with the &#8220;On air conference&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, the CRAC organized several events on May 5th every year and designated that day as a Chinese amateur radio festival, called &#8220;5.5 Festival&#8221;. Due to COVID-19, the CRAC called for all amateur radio operators &#8220;Stay Home&#8221; to fight for the Conoravirus situation. The 2020 &#8220;5.5 Festival&#8221; was shifted to the air waves.<\/p>\n<p>The CRAC provides special awards to whose who meet the criteria below.<br \/>\nAward application can be sent to (cq55@crac.org.cn); indicate your call- sign, award category and E-mail address to receive the award. The award application deadline is September 30th, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Award Rules: The award has three categories Bronze, Silver and Golden, which will be measured by slots worked. One slots is a combination of a special callsign, band and mode.
