When such a shock wave ripples through the sun&#8217;s atmosphere, it causes solar plasma to oscillate, generating natural radio emissions detectable by shortwave receivers on Earth.<\/p>\n<p>Ironically, while the sun was trumpeting radio static, the flare caused a radio blackout.
