At its apex, around 1800 UTC, the storm reached category\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spaceweather.com\/glossary\/g2.jpg\">G2<\/a>&#8211;a moderately strong event. The only thing that prevented widespread aurora sightings was daylight.
