Radiation from the flare caused a minor shortwave radio blackout over the Pacific side of North America:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spaceweather.com\/images2022\/08jul22\/blackoutmap.jpg\">map<\/a>. Newly-arriving data from SOHO suggest that the explosion also hurled\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spaceweather.com\/images2022\/09jul22\/partialhalo.gif\">a partial halo CME<\/a>\u00a0toward Earth.
