At first, the stream&#8217;s velocity was low, but during the day it sped up to more than 600 km\/s, ultimately causing a moderately strong\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spaceweather.com\/glossary\/g2.jpg\">G2-class<\/a>\u00a0geomagnetic storm.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spaceweather.com\/images2022\/08aug22\/planetary-k-index.gif\">This event<\/a>\u00a0was not in the forecast.
