Business arising from the minutes:  The Co-Phase antennas had some complications so waiting for nicer weather to proceed.  Wayne VY2WA was into contact with Greg of the City and he did not order any DC adapters.  The annual return was filed and all changes have been applied.

Correspondence:  The club received a thank you note from Vince Gallant (VE1AVS) and Family for our donation to the Parkinson Society in memory of his wife Mary.

Committee Reports:

Repeater/Technical: Ken VY2RU reported that the 6M repeater in Glen Valley is presently down.  The duplexers are at Island Mobile being tuned.  The Bear River (Souris) repeater VY2EKR is also down.  Rob VY2ROB plans to replace it with an MSR2000.

City of Summerside Emergency Measures: Wayne VY2WA will talk to the City about moving the equipment from City Hall to the Clubhouse.

Added Agenda:

Bus Update:  No Update as bus is parked in the lot behind the clubhouse at the back of the electrical yard.

EchoLink: The old Micor repeater that we were going to use for Echolink is toast and the spare we received from Nova Scotia is UHF so it will not work either.  The club still has a Motorola Mitrex, which we can use.  Ken VY2RU has ordered the crystals for this repeater.  There was a discussion regarding the callsign for the Echolink repeater.  The club was going to look at all the callsigns that the club is presently using and see who are the trustees.  No decision has been made.

Website:  New SPARC history page and past executive page have been added to the site.  The club’s constitution is also available on the website if anyone would like to read it.

New Business:

Clubhouse:  Moved by Ken VY2RU and seconded by Gord VE1EO to purchase 9 chairs and 2 tables for the clubhouse.  All in favor. Motion carried.

RAC:  After lengthy discussions regarding issues with RAC it was moved by Bill VY2FF and seconded by Gord VE1EO that the Summerside Amateur Radio Club (SPARC) become a member of the Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC).  All in favor.  Motion carried.  The RAC membership also includes a liability insurance policy but the policy is very limited and does not cover much.

Field Day:  Bill VY2FF inquired about having Field Day at the clubhouse.  More information will be needed, as we have to look at the finer points such as point multipliers etc.  This has been tabled to another meeting.  Regarding last years field day, it was moved by Bill VY2FF and seconded by Wayne VY2WA that the club cover the repair costs for Gord’s radio that was damaged at Field Day.  All in favor.  Motion carried.

Photo Copier:  Rodney VY2CGA has an old photocopier that he is willing to donate to the club from his office at Amalgamated Dairies Limited.

Moved by Ken VY2RU and seconded by Dave VY2DG to Adjourn.  Meeting adjourned at 9:35 pm.

Respectfully submitted,
