General Meeting
January 10, 2007
The vice president called the meeting to order at 7:30 with 10 members present. VY2WRV, Marie, VY2RG, VE1EO, VY2FF, VY2RU, VY2DG, VE1CM, VY2DRS & VY2DS.
The minutes from the Nov. meeting were read. Moved by Doug VY2DS and seconded by Dave VY2DRS that the minutes be approved as read. All in favour. Motion carried.
Business arising from the minutes: Bill VY2FF is to return a call to I.C. re his appointment as an examiner. The secretary checked the minutes of previous meetings and found that a motion was passed at the April meeting to donate $ 50.00 to the CNIB. The treasures has sent a cheque.
Correspondence: An e-mail was received from Don Courcy VE1CY re the passing of Joan M. Cormier VE9ANK
Committee Reports:
Treasurer's
Report: Marie reported a donation from Computers for PEI Communities. A
letter was sent to Ken Chaisson thanking him for the donation. Moved by Dave S
and seconded by Doug VY2DS that the treasurer's report be accepted as presented.
All in favour. Motion carried.
Repeater/Technical: Ken VY2RU reported that sometime over the holidays the furnace in the equipment room at the stand pipe ran out of fuel, as a result our equipment shut down. Ken VY2RU and Wendell VY2CC got things up and running again.

EMO Exercise: Dave VY2DRS reported that a meeting was held in Borden on Sunday Jan. 8th to plan for Emergency Radiocommunications Exercise FOUL PLAY which is scheduled for Thursday evening Feb. 22, 2007 from 1900 HRS to 2100 HRS Atlantic Standard Time. The exercise will involve EMO trained amateur radio operators from N.B. N.S. and P.E.I. The purpose of the exercise is to test the linking capabilities of maritime repeaters as well as to monitor the traffic handling capabilities of the operators. Dave has asked for volunteers to take part in this exercise
Potluck Meeting: The Feb 14th meeting will include a pot luck dinner at the Wilmot Community Center.
Membership Dues: Some discussion took place re an out of province membership of $10.00. Bill VY2FF will draft a reminder letter for approval.
Moved by Ken VY2RU and seconded by Doug VY2DS to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 8:23 PM.
