City of Summerside Emergency Measures: Wayne took the mobile-base radio to the clubhouse.  Dave VY2DRS inquired about where the “club” sits on the City’s emergency call-out list and what are our required duties.  Wayne VY2WA shall set up a meeting with Greg at the City to discuss.

Added Agenda:

Bus Update:  The bus is parked in the lot behind the clubhouse at the back of the electrical yard.

Abegweit Award Update: Richard VY2WRV met with Bill Perry VY2BP of the Charlottetown club and it was agreed to dissolve the Abegweit Award account and split the proceeds.  Charlottetown received $800.00 from the fund.  It was agreed by the two clubs that the Summerside club will continue to administer the Abegweit Award.

EchoLink:  Ken VY2RU has the old Micor from the water tower.  He also received an old Micor repeater from Brad VE1ZX and Lorne VE1BXK.  He will see if one repeater can be made out of the two.  The EchoLink system will be setup on a stand-alone repeater on its own frequency, as our present link radios will not handle continuous duty.  The repeater will be housed at the clubhouse.  Wendell VY2CC has agreed to sell the EchoLink interface board with cables for $80.00.  Moved by Bill VY2FF and seconded by Wayne VY2WA to purchase EchoLink interface board with cables from Wendell for $80.00.  19 for…1 against.  Motion Carried.

Website:  Rodney VY2CGA also has access to the website and some pages have been updated.

New Business:

Clubhouse:  Wayne inquired that the club should contact the City to get permission to erect a tower at the clubhouse and install antennas.  Also George VY2GD has cabinets to donate to the club for use in the clubhouse.

RAC Insurance:  Yvan VY2EUV noted that RAC members and Clubs who are RAC members receive for free a $5 million liability insurance policy for amateur related incidents.  More information is available on their website www.rac.ca

Call Books:  Yvan VY2EUV will bring the remainder of the call books to the clubhouse so that they will be send and possibly sold quicker.

Respectfully submitted,
