Minutes of Summerside Amateur Radio Club Inc.
General Meeting
March 08, 2006
The President, VY2WRV, called the general meeting to order at 7:31 p.m.
with 10 members present: VY2FF, VY2DRS,
VY2WRV, VY2CGA, VY2AA, VY2JR, VY2RU, VY2HR, VY2EUV, and VY2GD.
The minutes of the last meeting were read. Moved by Bill
VY2FF and seconded by Dave VY2DRS to approve the minutes as read. All in
favor. Motion carried.
Business arising from the
minutes: No Update.
Correspondence: No Update.
Committee Reports:
Treasurer’s
Report: Yvan VY2EUV reported an updated Treasurer’s
report to all present. Moved by Dave
VY2DRS and seconded by Ken VY2RU to approve the treasurer’s report. All in favor. Carried.
Repeater/Technical: Aliant is
planning to move the paging to their new tower. Ken VY2RU will contact Aliant regarding the antennas, as they are
Aliant’s antennas to see if they will be leaving them behind. The City of Summerside is planning on
painting the water tower.
City of Summerside Emergency Measures: No Update.
Added Agenda:
Bus Update: No Update.
Clubhouse:
The new dual band antenna has
arrived. Jamie VY2JR has it assembled
at the clubhouse but it will have to be tuned.
Adam VY2AA will check to see if he can get a mount. Still have to run some rotor cable and a run
of heliax from the clubhouse to the roof of the power plant. Robert VY2HR will check with the City to see
if a phone line may be available at the clubhouse for use by the City staff.
Call Plates:
Richard VY2WRV has heard back
from the DMV and it will cost an initial $250.00 to change the plate. He will contact the Charlottetown club to
see if they are interested in the new design and to share the cost.
New Business:
Emergency Plan: Dave VY2DRS will be attending
a Basic Emergency Management Course to be held in Charlottetown on March 14,
15, 16. The course cost of $50.00 will
be returned since we are a volunteer organization. Moved by Bill
VY2FF and seconded by Adam VY2AA to allocate the $50.00 refund to Dave for
travel expenses to the course. All in Favor. Carried.
Flea Market: After a discussion it was
moved by Gerry VY2GD and seconded by Bill VY2FF to skip the flea market for
2006. All in favor. Carried.
Perhaps will bring back to Summerside and serve breakfast.
QSL Cards: The QSL cards have
arrived. The Club has ordered 1,000
blank call cards. These will be sold to
any club member for a nominal cost.
Moved by Ken VY2RU and seconded by Gerry VY2GD. Meeting
adjourned at 8:24 pm.
