General Meeting

March 09, 2005

The President, VY2WRV, called the general meeting to order at 7:33 p.m. with 14 members and 1 guest present: Edward, VY2RG, VY2JR, VY2ZZ, VY2WRV, VY2WA, VY2CC, VY2EUV, VY2AA, VY2FF, VE1EO, VY2GIB, VY2CGA, VY2RU and guest Hillis Dawson.

The minutes of the last meeting were read. Moved by Bob VY2RG and seconded by Adam VY2AA to approve the minutes as read. All in favor. Motion carried.

Business arising from the minutes: Field Day will be held at Belmont Park.

Correspondence: The club received a letter from the CNIB. Discussed at an earlier meeting.

Treasurer’s Report: Yvan’s VY2EUV reported an up-to-date treasurer’s report to all those in attendance as of February 28, 2005. Moved by Wendell VY2CC and seconded by Wayne VY2WA to approve report. All in favor. Motion carried.

Committee Reports:

Repeater/Technical: Ken VY2RU reported that he has received the crystals for the mitrex repeater.

City of Summerside Emergency Measures: The emergency equipment has been moved to the clubhouse.

Added Agenda:

Bus Update: No Update.

EchoLink: The EchoLink board is at the clubhouse. VY2TNC will be the call for the EchoLink repeater.

Website: No Update.

Clubhouse: Wayne VY2WA talked to Greg Gaudet about erecting tower(s) at the clubhouse. A few possibilities were discussed and the one that was passed by the City is on the west end of building on the street side of the fence. As a note, there is heliax running to the top of the stacks. Moved by Bob VY2RG and seconded by Gord VE1EO to approve $100.00 for miscellaneous expenses for the clubhouse. All in favour. Motion carried.

Field Day: Field Day will be held at Belmont Park. The finer points were looked at with discussion. Wayne VY2WA volunteered to look after the media and Bill VY2FF volunteered to inquire about having a politician visit the site and also to setup a display table with a guest book.

New Business:

Examinations: There was a discussion regarding examinations and the club. Moved by Wayne VY2WA and seconded by Bob VY2RG to adopt a club examination policy. All in favour. Motion carried. This policy will be developed by the examiners and will be presented at an upcoming meeting.

Moved by Bob VY2ZZ and seconded by Bob VY2RG to Adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 9:03 pm.
