Meeting

10, 2004
The President, VY2FF,
called the general meeting to order at 7:50 p.m. with 13 members present: VY2CK, VE1ANZ, Marie, VE1EO, VY2WA, VY2GIB,
VY2RU, VY2WRV, VY2CC, VY2RG, VY2CGA, VY2FF, VY2EUV.
The minutes of the last
meeting were read. Moved
by Ken VY2RU and seconded by Richard VY2WRV to approve minutes as with
correction of Ella’s call sign. All in favor. Motion
carried.
Business arising from minutes: The domain name www.sparc.ca
was taken, thus it is now www.summersidearc.com. Wendell’s VY2CC friend in Texas is hosting
the site. For anyone interested email
addresses @summersidearc.com are available.
Old Business: The TNC will take a while to change, as the
radio needs to be reprogrammed.
Bill
VY2FF was talking to Bill Perry VY2BP regarding a flea market in Charlottetown
and he had no objections. Moved by Marie and seconded
by Wayne VY2WA to hold a flea market in Charlottetown. All if
favor. Motion carried. The flea market will be held on Saturday,
July 10, 2004 at 10:00 am at the Charlottetown Flying School at the “old”
Airport.
Ken
VY2RU gave Yvan VY2EUV the stickers for the Abegweit Award. Ken will check with Campbell’s printing
regarding additional stickers.
Correspondence: The club received a thank
you from the PCH for the donation in memory of Lloyd and also received a card
from Lloyd’s Family.
The club received a letter
from R. Tait McKenzie Public School soliciting a donation for youth radio. No further discussion.
Treasurer’s Report: Yvan VY2EUV presented an updated treasurer’s
report as of March 10, 2004 to all in attendance. Moved by Yvan VY2EUV and seconded by Richard VY2WRV
to approve treasurer’s report. All in
Favor. Motion Carried.
New Business: It was suggested to look at updating the
Abeqweit Award. Moved
by Ken VY2RU and seconded by Gib VY2GIB to have Bob VY2RG redesign the Abeqweit
Award. All in favor. Motion carried.
Rodney VY2CGA will send an
email to RAC to correct club contact information.
Ken VY2RU has drafted a
letter to be sent to RAC stating our concerns.
Moved by Ken and seconded by Gord VE1EO to send a
letter to RAC. All in
favor. Motion carried.
There was discussion of a
6M repeater as a location complete with antennas is available in Glen
Valley. It will cost approximately
$200.00 to setup. Moved
by Ken VY2RU and seconded by Gib VY2GIB to approve $200.00 to setup a 6M
repeater. All in
favor. Motion carried.
A letter will be sent out
from the President to the membership to spark interest in the club.
It was asked if the bus
would be painted for field day and be available to take to the flea market in
Charlottetown.

and seconded by Gord VE1EO to adjourn.
Meeting adjourned at 9:42 pm.
