General Meeting

 

May 10, 2006

 

The President, VY2WRV, called the general meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with 15 members present VY2GM, VE1CM, VY2RG, VY2DRS, VY2WA, VY2EUV, VY2WRV, VY2CGA, VY2AA, VY2JR, VY2GD, VY2RU, VY2FF, VE1EO and Marie.

 

The minutes of the last meeting were read.  Moved by Gord VE1EO and seconded by Dave VY2DRS to approve the minutes as read.  All in favor.  Motion carried.

 

Business arising from the minutes: No Update.

 

Correspondence:  None

 

Committee Reports:

Treasurer’s Report:  Yvan gave an updated treasurer’s report to all those present..  Moved by Bob VY2RG and seconded by Ken VY2RU to approve.  All in favour.  Carried.

 

Repeater/Technical:  Ken VY2RU has asked Aliant if they would turn the 210-C4 antenna over to the club when they move to their new site as opposed to removing it.

 

City of Summerside Emergency Measures:  No Update.

 

Added Agenda:

Bus Update:  No Update.

 

Clubhouse:  The new 2M antenna is on the packet system.

 

Call Plates:  Moved by George VY2GM and seconded by Gord VE1EO to send a letter to the Minister of Transport for the call plates and a thank you letter to Campbell’s Concrete for the pipe.  George VY2GM will provide the details.  All in favour. Carried.

 

Membership:  A new shorter list was presented by Gord VE1EO.

 

New Business:

Emergency Plan:  Ken VY2RU and Dave VY2DRS attended an EMO seminar in Amherst, NS on the new radio system in Nova Scotia and also did a mock exercise.

 

Field Day:  Belmont Park has been confirmed to June 24/25.  Bill VY2FF will check with the City of Summerside for use of the boom truck for field day.  Carol VY2RR will provide a shopping list for Douglas VY2DS.  Moved by Bill VY2FF and seconded by Adam VY2AA to allocate $300.00 for field day.  All in favour.  Carried.  Adam will keep track of the expenses and drive the bus.

 

June Dinner:  The June dinner will be held at Gentleman Jim’s Restaurant on June 14, 2006.

 

EMO Exercise:  George VY2GM is looking for six volunteers to conduct a mock exercise on May 25, 2006 between 7 – 9 p.m.  The exercise will be done from your home and involves a gasoline tanker upset on the Confederation Bridge.  The following at the meeting volunteered: VY2WA, VY2WRV, VY2RU, VY2DRS, VE1EO, VY2GM
