Minutes of Summerside Amateur Radio Club Inc.
General Meeting
May 11, 2005
The President, VY2WRV, called the general meeting to order at 7:45 p.m.
with 12 members present: VY2CGA, VY2WRV, VY2EUV, VY2RO, VY2SG, VY2GD, VY2RU,
VE1CM, VE1EO, VY2RG, VY2DS, and VY2AA.
The minutes of the last meeting were read. Moved by Ken VY2RU
and seconded by Adam VY2AA to approve the minutes as read. All in
favor. Motion carried.
Business arising from the minutes: The thank you note has been sent to Kaye Sargent.
Correspondence: None
Treasurer’s Report: Yvan VY2EUV presented an updated treasurer’s
report as of April 30, 2005 to all those in attendance. Moved by John VE1CM and seconded by Bob VY2RG to approve report. All in favor. Motion carried.
Committee Reports:
Repeater/Technical: The 6-Meter repeater is
still down. It is presently at Bill
Elliott’s VE1MR place for repairs. The
EchoLink system is still not ready for operation. The antennas will have to be erected.
City of Summerside Emergency Measures: None
Added Agenda:
Bus Update: No Update.
Clubhouse:
No Update.
Field Day: Richard VY2WRV had sent an
invitation to Summerside Mayor Basil Stewart and PEI MLA Phillip Brown to
attend our field day at Belmont Provincial Park. Moved by Gord
VE1EO and seconded by Gerry VY2GD to approve $300.00 for field day expenses. All in
favour. Motion carried.
New Business:
Flea Market: No update.
Call Plates:
There was an application for
call plate VY2KR. The situation is that
VY2KR is not a valid call sign. It was
agreed to contact the person and explain that the call plate cannot be issued
unless a valid call sign is in his possession.
When he can provide the proper documentation, we will issue him a proper
call plate. A note should be added to
the website to note this.
June Dinner:
Richard VY2WRV will inquire
about having the June Dinner at the Minh-Wang Restaurant on Wednesday June 08,
2005. If things are a go the members
will be notified via “Swill”, Website and by email.
Moved by Ken VY2RU and seconded by Bob VY2RG to Adjourn. Meeting
adjourned at 8:36 pm.
