Meeting
November
12, 2003
The Vice-President, VE1CM,
called the general meeting to order at 8:07 p.m. with 8 members present: VY2WRV, VE1EO, VY2EUV, VY2GIB, VY2WA, VE1CM,
VY2CGA, and Marie.
The minutes of the last
meeting were read. Moved
by Wayne VY2WA and seconded by Yvan
VY2EUV to approve minutes as read. All in favor. Motion
carried.
Business arising from minutes: Marie
made up a new call out list. A thank
you was sent to Claire. Lloyd VY2CQ has
asked Bob Morrison VY2ZZ to look after the Abegweit Award.
Correspondence: None.
Old Business: None.
Treasurer’s Report: Yvan VY2EUV presented an updated treasurer’s
report as of November 11, 2003 to all in attendance. Moved by Yvan VY2EUV and seconded by Richard VY2WRV
to approve treasurer’s report. All in
Favor. Motion Carried.
New Business: The Christmas dinner will be held Saturday,
December 13, 2003 at the Kensington Lions Club. The dinner will be free as the Club will purchase the groceries
and Gib VY2GIB will be the chef. The
building will be ours so we are able to stay after the dinner. The dinner is BYOB.
Moved by Gib VY2GIB
and seconded by Richard VY2WRV to donate $75.00 to the Kensington Lions Club
for the use of their facility. All in
favor. Motion carried.
Gib VY2GIB inquired about
the City of Summerside’s tower and if the club is still involved in erecting
it. The club will need to have an
agreement with the City for the use and possession of the equipment. The Vice-President VE1CM will contact the
City.
The Maritime Call Book is
up for renewal. Gib VY2GIB volunteered
to collect all changes from Island amateurs and forward to the Halifax Club
before printing.
Wayne VY2WA inquired about
RAC’s recommendation to Industry Canada to drop the morse code and if radio
clubs will have any power to grandfather operators to full privileges.

in favor. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
