General Meeting

October 08, 2003

The President, VY2FF, called the general meeting to order at 9:35 p.m. with 11 members present: VY2RG, VY2GD, VE1CM, VE1EO, VY2ROC, VY2RO, VY2WRV, VY2EUV, VY2FF, VY2CGA and Marie.

The minutes of the last meeting were read. Moved by Gerry VY2GD and seconded by Richard VY2WRV to approve minutes as read. All in favor. Motion carried.

Business arising from minutes: The bus is not masked. Blake, the painter, is not well at the moment. Presently, the bus is in Bill’s barn.

Correspondence: Received a thank you letter from the City of Summerside for the Club’s participation with Nature Fest.

Received a thank you and donation from the Town of Kensington for the Club’s participation with the Harvest Festival Parade.

Received two free 30-day subscriptions to www.hamstudy.com from Frank VanderZande VE7AV for new amateurs to study for examinations. Frank VE7AV was present at our field day.

Old Business: The Club held a Corn boil on September 28, 2003 for Nature Fest for the City of Summerside.

Treasurer’s Report: Yvan VY2EUV presented an updated treasurer’s report as of October 01, 2003 to all in attendance. Moved by Gord VE1EO and seconded by Bob VY2RO to approve treasurer’s report. All in Favor. Motion Carried.

New Business: Gerry VY2GD inquired about the membership due structure and if there was a membership committee. Marie discussed the call-out list for members and she will review.

Abeqweit Award. Who is administrating? Bob VY2RO will check with Lloyd VY2CQ to see if he is willing to keep administrating the award.

A thank you letter to Claire Arsenault should be written thanking him for the use of his burner and large pot.
