Business arising from the minutes:  Bill VY2FF had mentioned that the club cease the corn boil for the City, as we are not getting any recognition for doing it.  This will be tabled for future discussion.

Correspondence:  There will be a basic emergency management course held in Charlottetown on November 7,8,9.  Interested parties should get into contact with Adam VY2AA before October 27 to register.  There is no fee for this course.

Also received a letter from VE3AXC from QSL Canada with a quote for QSL cards.  For more information you my email them at ve3axc@gmail.com.

Also received a statement from Mike Gallant, Manager of Kensington Save Easy, that he would help us out in any way for any events that we hold around the Kensington area.

Committee Reports:

Treasurer’s Report:  Yvan gave an updated treasurer’s report to those present.  Moved by Yvan VY2EUV and seconded by Mike VE1MTH to approve report.  All in favour.  Carried.

Repeater/Technical:  The 210-C4 antenna on the water tower is now shared by the City of Summerside’s Fire Department and us.  A UHF Sinclair 307 yagi antenna was installed on the water tower pointing towards O’Leary for the link.  We used old heliax that was on the tower.  Rick VE9RWS and Brad VE1ZX did the climbing.  Ken VY2RU has received a key for the new gate that was installed around the water tower.  The City is also trying to find a key to the room downstairs where the Aliant equipment was.  The cluster is now working again from Rodney’s VY2CGA QTH.

City of Summerside Emergency Measures:

Added Agenda:

Bus Update:  No Update.

Clubhouse:  No Update.

Call Plates:  No Update.

New Business:

Emergency Plan:  An EMO exercise was to take place at the end of September but was cancelled due to lack of interest but the Summerside club was not notified.  This will be brought up with the EMO coordinators.

Field Day:  Field day was held again at Belmont Park and was well attended and considered a success.

Examiners:  Bob VY2ZZ has turned in his resignation as an examiner.  Also Mike VE1MTH has decided not to be an examiner either.  Bill VY2FF has volunteered providing that he meets the requirements.  We will need more examiners to have on hand as our policy requires that two be present at all writings.

Moved by Ella VE1PEI to adjourn.  Meeting adjourned at 8:37 pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Rodney Mann VY2CGA

Club Secretary
