Meeting

The Vice-President, VE1CM,
called the general meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. with 14 members present:
VY2CGA, VY2WA, VY2WRV, VY2AA, VY2EUV, VY2RU, VE1CM, VY2GD, VE1EO, VE1ANZ,
VY2CK, VE1PEI, VY2EFA, and Claudette.
The minutes of the last
meeting were read. Moved
by Ken VY2RU and seconded by Gord VE1EO to approve minutes. All in favor. Motion carried.
Business arising from minutes: The
trustee has been changed on the O’Leary repeater.
Treasurer’s Report: Yvan VY2EUV presented an
updated treasurer’s report as of September 01, 2004 to all those in attendance. Moved by Yvan VY2EUV and seconded by Richard VY2WRV
to approve report. All in favor. Motion carried.
Correspondence: None
Committee Reports:
Repeater/Technical: Summerside is now linked to
VE1BHS (Sugarloaf) as the VE1SPR (Springhill) UHF hub is down. Since our Echolink is down we can connect to
Echolink through the Sugarloaf Repeater.
VY2TNC is presently not working and needs to be reset. The 6-metre repeater needs new
antennas. Rob VY2ROB is trying to
source them along with multicouplers.
Ron’s VE1AIC new repeater VE1UHF in Glen Valley on 146.715 is working
well to the west but not to the east.
The VY2CFB APRS node in Bloomfield needs to have the antennas
repositioned to reach more towards the Tignish area. It was discussed for future expansion to purchase a 3-port
controller for Cavendish to extend linking to the eastern end of the Island.
City
of Summerside Emergency Measures: Need a
volunteer to look after the portables.
John VE1CM and Wayne VY2WA have agreed to handle and rotate the
portables. There are four portables in
total. It was moved by Ken
and seconded by Richard VY2WRV to appoint Wayne VY2WA as chairman of the City of
Summerside Emergency Measures. All in
Favor. Motion Carried.

Bus
Update: The bus has been
painted.
Flea
Market Update: The flea market
went over well with net proceeds of $496.50.
Abegweit
Award Update: None
RAC
Update: Bill Glydon VY2LI in the
official for the Island. Bill Gillis
VE1WG has been nominated to oppose David Goodwin.
Field Day:
Field Day was a success and everyone had a good time.
New Business:
Elections: The annual meeting and election of Officers
is next month. A notice will be sent
out to remind all members.
Nature
Fest: The City of Summerside has
asked the club to sponsor a corn boil during Nature Fest on Sunday, October 03,
2004. It was moved by Ella
VE1PEI and seconded by Wayne VY2WA to sponsor the corn boil for Nature Fest. All in favor. Motion carried.
Call
Plates: Adam VY2AA cannot
register his call plate as the plate is already registered to the previous
owner. Ken VY2RU was going to contact
Bill Perry VY2BP in Charlottetown for Bill to contact the estate to get the
registration released.
Donations: Don VE1ANZ has agreed to donate to the club
his tower, Rotor and Beam. Bill Sargent
VY2BIJ has also agreed to donate to the club his tower, rotor and beam
providing that the club takes it down.

seconded by Eddie VY2EFA to Adjourn.
