The Summerside Amateur Radio Club is offering a licensing course again this spring.
With an Amateur Radio License you can make contacts with your radios across the world to friends and fellow hams via voice, morse code, or digital modes. It’s emergency readiness, but also a great hobby with regular island-wide activities plus you get to meet cool, fun, and nerdy people all over the world whenever you want to.

- Station Assembly, Practice and Safety
- Circuit Components
- Basic Electronics and Theory
- Feedlines and Antenna Systems
- Radio Wave Propagation
- Interference and Suppression
There are no age limits or prerequisites for the course. Tuition is $100 which includes the exam and a portable radio to get you started after you pass the exam. We also recommend you purchase this study guide which the course will be based on.
The course will be held in person in Summerside twice a week for 8 weeks on Mondays and Thursdays from 7:00-09:00pm starting Monday, March 23 2026, ending Monday, May 11 2026.
