IOTA on the air this week:
EUROPE–
EU-038 Ameland Isl Look for ON2LVC, ON4LO, ON5SEL and ON7DE as PA/OR5R during May 18-22. Operation on HF and 6 metres using CW, SSB and FT modes. QSL via e-mail.
EU-121 Arranmore Isl Pete M1PTR and Kieron M5KJM will be operating as EJ6KP/P on May 21- 23. Operation on 40, 20 and 15 metres using SSB during their local daytime. QSL via Club Log, LoTW or via M5KJM direct or bureau.
NORTH AMERICA –
NA-134 Aasiaat Isl Bo, OZ1DJJ is once again operating as OX3LX until May 22 from grid GP38NQ. Operation during his spare time from 30 to 10 metres. QSL via OZ0J.
NA-104 St. Kitts Markus, WW6W will be active holiday style as V4/WW6W from St. Kitts (NA-104) from 24 May to 1 June. He will operate mainly CW and FT8 on 80-10 metres. Markus also plans to be participate in the CQ WW WPX CW Contest, hopefully using a special contest callsign TBA. QSL via LoTW, or direct.
NA-047 Baffin Island. Kris, KM2KM plans to be active as KM2KM/VY0 from Iqaluit on Baffin Island (NA-047) between 26 May and 3 June. He expects to operate CW (13 WPM) on 20, 17 and 15 metres “probably before breakfast and after dinner – say 6-8 AM and 7 to 9 PM local time”.
OCEANIA –
OC-165 Talang-Talang Besar A team with 12 operators is QRV during May as 9M8T. QSL via 9W8ZZK. https://cqdx.my/9m8t
OC-146 Sulawesi Isl Operators from the North Sulawesi Region and Radio of North Celebes will be QRV as 7F8RNC on May 23-24. Activity on 40, 20, 15 and 10 metres using CW, SSB and sat.
ASIA –
AS-056 Danjo Isl Take JI3DST and Ken JA4GXS will be operating as call/6 on May 22-23 between 0800 UTC and 2200 UTC. As the islands are uninhabited and lack a regular ferry service, AS-056 is currently the second most wanted IOTA group in Japan. They plan to operate SSB, CW, FT8 and FT4 on 40, 30, 20, 17 and 6 metres, running battery power to a wire dipole for HF, and a 2-element delta loop for 6m.
Special Event Stations:
R121MS and UE41MS Commemorating the 121st anniversary since the birth of Mikhail A. Sholokhov (the 1965 Nobel Prize in Literature), special callsigns R121MS and UE41MS will be active on 18-24 May during the 41st edition of the Sholokhov Spring Festival. A certificate will be available on https://hamlog.online/club/mdxc QSLs via RQ7L.
LY100RADIO is the special callsign celebrating the 100th anniversary since the official beginning of regular radio broadcasting service in Lithuania (12 June 1926). Look for activity from 12 May to 12 July; see https://www.qrz.com/db/LY100RADIO for the awards. QSL via LY2QT.
EH100AG is the special callsign for members of URE Baix Camp, URE Tarragones and Radio Club EA3RCY to commemorate the centenary of the passing of Antoni Gaudi, the famous Catalan architect and designer whose main and widely known work is the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Look for activity to take place between 11 May and 7 June on various bands and modes, and on QO-100. QSL via the bureau; QSOs will be uploaded to eQSL, LoTW and Club Log.
