Based on operating statistics and ongoing feedback from the DX community, we have made several adjustments aimed at maximizing unique QSOs, which remains the primary mission of the Desecheo DXpedition. These adjustments emphasize 10m and the higher bands, where we continue to see the greatest opportunity to put new stations and new DXCCs in the log.

5Z, KENYA Michael, OZ6ABL is operating as 5Z4/call until February 28. Operation in ‘holidaystyle’ from 80 to 6 metres using CW, SSB and FT4/8. QSL via home call, LoTW, OQRS.

C2, NAURU Phil, FK1TS/C21TS is back on air until end July 2026. Phil mentions. Legal limit here for CW / FT8 etc. is 105 watts, SSB 400 watts. H4, SOLOMON ISL Bernard (DL2GAC) is once again QRV as H44MS from Manakwai village until April 10. Operation from 80 to 6 metres using SSB and FT8. QSL via home call, direct or bureau.

HR, HONDURAS Gerard, F2JD is operating as HR5/call from Copan until March. Activity on HF using CW, SSB and FT4/8. QSL via F6AJA direct or bureau.

TL, CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC Joao, CR7BNW is operating as TL8BNW until June.  Activity on 40, 20, 15 and 10 metres using SSB and FT8 with a dipole.

TY, BENIN Gerard, F5NVF is operating from Godomey as TY5GG until April. QRV on various bands using CW and FT8 from 80 to 10 metres. QSL via LoTW.

Antarctic Bases….

Casey Station VK0TBC  Tom, VK2TBC is going to be based at Casey Station, Antarctica and plans to be operational as VK0TBC between February and December this year. He will be running with a Flex-8400 and DX Commander plus other wire antennas. McMurdo Station, KC4USV and KC4/KL5SE  Ross Island by Andrew KC4/KL5SE My 11th season to McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Neumayer Station, DP0GVN   New ham operator Lasse, DL9LU is active during the entire winter as DP0GVN until December 2026. QSL via OQRS.

A Lot of Special Calls and Events this Month!!

EA, SPAIN Special callsigns AO1WRD, AO2WRD, AO3WRD, AO4WRD, AO5WRD, AO6WRD (Balearic Islands), AO7WRD, AO8WRD (Canary Islands) and AO9WRD (Ceuta and Melilla) are expected to be active on 6-15 February in celebration of World Radio Day. HA, HUNGARY Hungarian physicist Zoltan Bay (1900-1992) played a pivotal role in advancing Earth-Moon-Earth (EME) communication through his pioneering experiment conducted on 6 February 1946. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Bay’s achievements, the Hungarian Radio Amateur Society (MRASZ) is hosting a special radio activity.
