EU-120. Members of the Newbury and District Amateur Radio Society (NADARS) will once again be active as G5XV from Isle of Wight during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st), as a Multi-2/Island-Xpedition/Mixed-Mode/24-Hrs/High-Power entry. Operators mentioned are George/2E0FEC, Carl/G0KPE, David/G3KLH, John/G3VPW, Richard/G3ZGC, Rob/G4LMW and Colin/M0DDT. QSL via M0OXO.

EU-147. Members of the RI1KO team are planning to operate from Kondostrov Island (RDA KL-08, RRA RR-02-01, WW Loc. KP84hf) between July 27th and August 3rd. Operators mentioned are Mike/R1MJ, Julia/
R1CBL, Yaroslav/R1BET, Dmitry and Vovan. Activity will be on 80/40/20/15/10 meters using CW, SSB and FT8/FT4. Due to a RSGB decision, they will not take part during the IOTA Contest! QSL via R1BET, LoTW and ClubLog.

NA-070. (Commemorative IOTA Expedition) Members of the KL7RRC team who tried unsuccessfully to activate rare Kiska Island (NA-070) the past two years are hoping their third attempt in July will be the charm. In 2020, it was Covid-19 that forced cancellation, while last year, the team’s chartered vessel experienced a medical emergency that scuttled plans just as the vessel was to arrive at Dutch Harbor, AK. This team did operate 6 days from Adak Island (NA-039) and made over 10K QSOs.
This year’s team has chartered a very capable but expensive (43K USDs) vessel, the “April Lane”, that will make the 675 mile Aleutian Island journey from Dutch Harbor to Adak to Kiska, an uninhabited island that is part of the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. The group has secured the necessary permissions from the USFWS to visit the island.
Kiska is also designated a National Historic Landmark and is part of the Aleutian Islands World War II National Monument. This year’s IOTA activation will be a commemorative operation honoring the 80th anniversary of the historic events taking place on Kiska during WWII… more information to follow.
They will operate 3 stations from July 25-31st, tentatively using the KL7RRC callsign 40-6m and during the 2022 IOTA Contest.
Current operators are: James/KB2FMH, Alex/KL5CX, Adrian/KO8SCA, Yuri/N3QQ, Tim/NL8F and Hal/W8HC. Visit the website for updates and more information at: https://www.na-234.com

NA-112. Alex, AK4AM, will once again be active as AK4AM/p from Emerald Island (WW Loc. FM14pq) between July 3-9th. Activity will be on 160-10 meters using Yaesu FT-991A and an Ultimax Antennas
DX Extreme about 300 ft. from the ocean waves. QSL only via LoTW.

NA-128. Members of the “NA-128 Contest Group” will once again be active this year as VX2I from Ile-aux-Coudres, Quebec, Canada (FN47), between July 28-31st during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st) as a Multi-2/DXpedition entry. QSL only via LoTW. For more details on past operations, see: https://www.qsl.net/na128cg

OC-139. Grant, VK5GR, reports the following [edited]: We are pleased to announce that VK5KI will for the first time participate in the RSGB’s Islands on the Air (IOTA) Contest this year from Kangaroo Island, off the cast of South Australia. The operators for this trip will be Grant/VK5GR and Chris/VK5FR.
We will be active in the Island Station – DXpedition Multi-2 category in both SSB and CW modes on 80m-10m prior to the contest, and on the main contest bands of 80/40/20/15/10m during the event.
QSL cards will again be available through our QSL Manager, Charles, M0OXO.
More details will be made available via our website at: https://vk5gr-iota.net

PLEASE NOTE: Since the Webmasters of the IOTA website have decided NOT to post or dedicate a Web page to announce upcoming IOTA operations, PLEASE send your IOTA operations information to the OPDX, and we will post it here in an upcoming bulletin……

** Thanks to the individuals who put the island/group and mode (which is very important) on their QSNs on their PacketCluster reports. The format we suggest is “Mode/IOTA#/Island or Group” (ex. CW/SA-036/Aruba).
