What’s in the DX Shoebox today?

Today’s DX Shoebox find again comes from Danny ON4VT with additional input from Angel WA2VUY. It features an image of the famous DXpeditioner, Eric SM0AGD with his XYL on Tarawa (T30GD), Western Kiribati on Xmas Day 1991.

To many people, Eric was a hero. He travelled the globe and gave new ones from far away and remote places. He even operated from two DXCC entities at the same time, namely Howland & Baker Islands and Canton (1982). A dual administration of Canton Island existed and Eric was there operating as both SM0AGD/KH1 and T31AE. At 2400z each day, even days for one, odd days for the other, he would switch from one call sign to the other. He had a sign on a wall with each callsign he would turn around.

Eric became Silent Key on July 4, 2018. He was 84.
