IOTA News from OPDX….

Thanks to the individuals who put the island/group and mode (which is very important) on their QSNs on their PacketCluster reports. The format we suggest is “Mode/IOTA#/Island or Group” (ex. CW/SA-036/Aruba).

AS-059. (Reminder/Update) Members of the Russian Robinson Club (RRC) will be active as RI0IR from Nedorazumeniya Island (RRA RR-13-16, WW Loc. QO59fo) between July 21-26th. Operators mentioned are Oleg/R7LP, Mike/RM2E, Maxim/RU5D, Eugene/RZ3EC, Igor/UA0IDZ and Igor/UA3EDQ. Activity will be on 40-10 meters, including 30/17/12m, using CW, SSB and FT8. The team will also make a side trip to Sikulun Island (RRA RR-13-38 [new], RLHA RLA-NEW, WW Loc. QO59qn), July 27-29th, and will operate as RD20LH (not RI0IR/p as previously announced). PQ41mp, RDA YA-11, RLHA RLA-033, WLOTA LH-0281, ARLHS ASR-161) located in the Laptev Sea, in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), between July 27-31st. Operators mentioned are Eugene/UA6EX, Yuri/RM0F, and Vasily/R7AA. Pilot station is Victor, UA3AKO. The team plans to be active in the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st). AS-099. Berkin, TA3J, will be active as TA3J/0 from Yassica Island during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st). QSL via LoTW, ClubLog’s OQRS and via TA3J.

AS-150. Members of the Ji Nan Amateur Radio Assciation (JNARA) will be active as BY4JN from Lingshan Island during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st), as a Multi-Single/All-Band/CW/SSB-Mode/ High-Power entry. Operators mentioned are BA4KR, Wang/BI4KKC, Gu/BD4TS and Qingtao/BI4LBD. Activity outside of the contest will be on 80-6 meters using CW and SSB. QSL via BG4OP.

AS-206. Hide, JO1CRA, will be active as JO1CRA/7 from O Island (aka Oshima, Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture; JCC# 0605), in the Honshu’s Coastal Islands East IOTA Group, Japan, during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (20m)/ CW-Mode entry (states “Not full entry”). The plan could change depending on the status of WX and COVID-19. He will be on the island until August 1st. Activity will be mainly CW and FT8/FT4. He will be focused on the “RSGB IOTA Contest” and 6m band. Suggested frequencies are: CW : 10125, 14045, 21045 and 50110 kHz FT8: 10136, 14074, 21074 and 50303 kHz 6m : 50303 kHz FT8 as a beacon. QSO on 50313 or 50303 kHz. SSB on 50260 kHz for JAs QSL via his home callsign, LoTW or ClubLog’s OQRS.

EU-001. Operators Denis/SV5FRD and Noel/OO4O will be active as SX5P from Rhodes Island (WW Loc. KM46CJ), Dodecanese, during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st) as an All-Band/High-Power entry. QSL via SV5FRD. NO Bureau.

EU-008. Operators Bill/GM3ZRT, Barry/GM3YEH and Gordon/GM7WCO will be active as GM7A from the Isle of Skye, Scotland, during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st). QSL via LoTW. GM7A is a contest callsign of the Kilmarnock and Loudoun ARC (GM0ADX).

EU-010. Look for GM7V to be active again from the Island of Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland, during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st) as a Multi-2/DXpedition entry. Operators men- tioned are John/MM0CCC, Gordon/MM0GPZ, Chris/GM3WOJ, Philip/ GM0LIR and Colin/GM0RLZ. QSL via Steve, N3SL.

EU-017. Francesco, IZ7KHR, will be active as ID9/IZ7KHR from 2 islands belonging to the Eolie Island group between July 23rd and 29th. The schedule is as follows: July 23-26th — Lipari Island (IIA E001, WLOTA 1144) July 27-29th — Salina Island (IIA E015, WLOTA 1005) Activity will be holiday style on various HF/VHF bands using SSB and the Digital modes. QSL via IZ7KHR, direct or ClubLog.

EU-024. Operators Marco/IS0BSR, Walter/IS0SWW, Marco/IS0ZOD, will be active as IS0SWW (host station) from Sardinia during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st) as a Multi-Op entry. QSL via IS0SWW.

EU-024. Doug, EA3ICJ, will be active as IM0/ED3Z from Sardinia during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st) as a Single-Op/Mixed-Mode/ Island-DXpedition/12-Hrs/Low-Power entry. He states, “I will operate from north main Sardinia Is. using portable vertical antenna and only 100 watts.” QSL via EA3ICJ.

EU-032. Operators Alain/F6BFH, Jacques/F5JY and Laurent/F6FVY will be active as TM5OL from Oleron Island during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st) as a Multi-Single/CW-SSB-Modes entry. QSL via F6AJA or LoTW.

EU-052. Fred, DH5FS, will be active as SV8/DH5FS from Corfu Island during g the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st) as a Single-Op/ Low-Power entry. QSL via DH5FS.

EU-054. Giuseppe, IT9PPG, will be active as IF9A from Favignana Island (IIA TP-011, MIA MI-025, WLOTA LH-1545) during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st) as a Single-Op/24-Hrs/CW-Mode/Low-Power entry. QSL via IT9ATF.

EU-117. Andy, RZ3EM, was currently active as R3RRC/1 this past week from Malyj Vysotskij Island in the Gulf of Finland North IOTA Group. As this was being written, he is now active from Vik- hrevoy Island (also EU-117). The length of his stay is unknown. QSL via RZ3EC. ADDED NOTE: Malyj Vysotskij is now a deleted DXCC entity. It was deleted from the DXCC list February 17th, 2012.

EU-121. In conjunction with Henning, OZ2I, (see OPDX.1560) the fol- lowing operators will put up a second station EJ1E on Bere Island. Operators mentioned are Denis/EI4KH, Gerard/EI5KF and David/EI6IQB. Activity will be Mixed-Mode(CW/SSB)/24-Hrs/ 100W. See QRZ.com or QRZCQ.com for QSL info.

EU-121. Members of the Shannonbasin Radio Club will once again be active as EJ3Z from Inis Boffin Island off the west coast of Galway during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st) as a 24-Hrs/Mixed-Mode/Low-Power entry. Operators mentioned are Marty/EI2IAB, Enda/EI2II, Tom/EI4HCB, Keith/EI5IN, Brian/ EI8IU, Fergus/EI6IB and Anthony/EI6GGB. QSL via LoTW.

NA-008/ Pierre, VE3KTB, will once again be active from the Canadian NA-009. High Arctic between July and August. His approximate oper- ation schedule is as follows: July 21-31st: Resolute Bay, Cornwallis Island (NA-009) August 1-16: Eureka, Ellesmere Island (NA-008) Callsigns to be use are VE3KTB/VY0 (NA-009) and VY0ERC (NA-008). NA-058/ Jeff, KU8E, will be active from Jekyll Island (NA-058) during NA-138. the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st) as a Single-Op/Island/ CW-Mode/Lower-Power entry using portable antennas. He states, [edited] “After the contest is over, I might drive down coast and activate NA-138 (FLORIDA STATE NORTH EAST (BREVARD TO NASSAU COUNTY IOTA Group) on either Sunday or Monday. NA-070. (Reminder/Commemorative IOTA Expedition) Members of the KL7RRC team will activate rare Kiska Island (NA-070). They will operate with 3 stations from July 25-31st, tentatively using the K7K callsign on 40-6m, and use the callsign KL7RRC during the 2022 RSGB IOTA Contest as a DXpedition entry. Suggested frequencies are: CW – 3540, 7040, 10105, 14040, 18073, 21040, 24891 and 28040 kHz SSB – 3790, 7090/7240, 14260, 18130, 21260, 24955 and 28485 kHz FT8 (F/H) – 3567, 7056, 10131, 14090, 18095, 21091, 24911 and 28091 Current operators are: James/KB2FMH, Alex/KL5CX, Adrian/KO8SCA, Yuri/N3QQ, Tim/NL8F and Hal/W8HC. Members of the International Society of Communicators and Networkers (SCAN) will be active as DX7EVM from Capitancillo Island, Philippines, during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30- 31st) as a Multi-Op/Single-TX entry. OC-139. (Reminder) Grant, VK5GR, reports that he will once again be active as VK5KI from Kangaroo Island, but this time for the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st). He will be on the island between July 29-31st. He posted the following on June 14th [edited]: We are pleased to announce that VK5KI will for the first time participate in the RSGB’s Islands on the Air (IOTA) Contest this year from Kangaroo Island, off the coast of South Australia. The operators for this trip will be Grant/VK5GR and Chris/VK5FR. We will be active in the Island Station – DXpedition Multi-2 category in both SSB and CW modes on 80m-10m prior to the contest and on the main contest bands of 80/40/20/15/10m during the event.
